Mitsubishi Motors Lineup at the 2010 Geneva International Motor Show

Mitsubishi Motors Lineup at the 2010 Geneva International Motor Show

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) this week gave the new ASX compact crossover its global debut at the 80th Geneva International Motor Show which runs through March 14.  MMC will display a total of 11 during public days including vehicles already sold in Europe and the revolutionary Mitsubishi Concept PX-MiEV, which contains the Mitsubishi Plug-in Hybrid System, and was first displayed at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show.

With the Mitsubishi Plug-in Hybrid System, the Concept PX-MiEV runs primarily as an electric vehicle with a gasoline engine in support which, as required, acts as an electric generator or provides an additional source of motive power. This new-generation crossover balances high environmental efficiency and performance by utilizing electric differential motors and an all-new S-AWC that utilizes E-AYC which controls torque to the rear wheels.

The ASX compact crossover is the European-spec version of the RVR, which was unveiled on February 17, 2010 in Japan.  The ASX achieves superior environmental efficiency with the combination of its DI-D MIVEC direct-injection diesel engine jointly developed by MMC and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. featuring Automatic Stop & Go and a VG (variable geometry) turbo, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.  In recent years, the crossover category has grown in the European automobile market, and MMC is responding by adding the compact ASX to the midsize Outlander.

RECENT REVIEWS OF OUR VEHICLES

Lancer Sportback Review

Chicago  Sun Times 3/3/2010
"The Lancer line of vehicles long has been the bread and butter of Mitsubishi offerings and for 2010 there is a sharp-looking five-door model that joins the ranks."

"The biggest and best part of the Sportback Ralliart is its fantastic drivetrain that offers a taste of the Evolution without the hefty dinner check."

"The paddle shift transmission is fun and shifts are crisp, especially in the sport shift mode. Blipping through the gears won't peel your eyelids back, but you won't get passed by the kid in the minivan."

"Another selling point for the Sportback Ralliart is all-wheel drive. This system gets the pavement bite going in a hurry."

"While the Lancer Sportback Ralliart doesn't have the Evolution's brutal power, turbo lag or razor edge handling, it still returns some driving grins, has more utility, a lower entry price of $27,590 and isn't quite as thirsty."

Outlander Review

San Diego Union Tribune 2/27/2010
"The Mitsubishi Outlander doesn't redefine automotive expectations, but clever and considerate engineering make it an overachieving family vehicle."

"I liked the Outlander V-6 because it was straightforward to use and drive. Its turning circle is a trim 34.8 feet, and there are just so many ways to use its cargo and seating capacity."

"Much thought went into the engineering of pieces that flip-fold-push-pull, which work without grunts, groans or pinched fingers."

"The third row bench is a design marvel."

"This eager crossover is another example of a compact vehicle helping owners do more with less, but it is Outlander's little details that make a big impression."

Dear Joanne:

On behalf of the City of New Britain and the Veterans' Commission, thank you very much for your help this year with our Memorial Day Parade, especially with the short notice I gave you. Your assistance was invaluable in arranging to have Art Schaller Jr. drive our Honorary Parade Marshall and Veteran, Mr. Danielewicz, throughout the Memorial Day Parade in his gorgeous antique 1930 Chevy Phaeton convertible. Please also be sure to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Schaller Jr. on our behalf. This was surely an event in which New Britain could take pride. Your participation played an instrumental role in its success, enriched our Parade, and most importantly, enabled one of our elderly Veterans (who was unable to easily walk the whole route) to participate in the Parade. The other 2 Veterans I originally thought we would have to transport ended up wanting to walk the Parade route, even though one of them was also elderly (but younger than Mr. Danielewicz).

We appreciate your time and effort, as well as that of Mr. Schaller Jr., in creating this memorable experience for New Britain, our Veterans, and all who attended. I will always remember your kindness!

Thank you again to Mr. Schaller Jr. for being a part of our Parade and for donating his time and beautiful car that night and to you, Joanne, for making that a possibility by coordinating everything! We appreciate all you did for us!

Sincerely,

Sandy

Subject: 2008 Evolution Battery Maintenance

Subject: Battery Maintenance during long term storage

Vehicles:  2008 Evolution

Due to the fact that vehicles are sitting longer in dealership storage lots, it is imperative that the vehicle battery be properly maintained.

The Lancer Evolution has a new hybrid battery that is different than most conventional style batteries.  The 2008 Lancer Evolution Service manual provides the proper maintenance steps required to maintain the vehicle battery while in storage.  This battery has been designed to operate in a closed environment (trunk room) without gassing like the more conventional batteries. One other critical difference is that this battery can not be discharged and left in a discharged state for very long without incurring permanent damage.

It is critical that the battery voltage be maintained at 12.4 volts or more (this is listed on the VIMS sheet in every vehicle). If the measured voltage is less than 12.4 then a 5 amp or less trickle charger should be used to recharge the battery, as outlined in the 2008 Evolution service manual.  Charging rates above the 5 amp limit may cause damage the battery.

Please remember that the maintenance on batteries in your stock vehicles are your responsibility. Normal warranty for replacement of batteries in your inventory is not approved.

Additionally, it is a good idea to pull out the IOD fuse during this long term storage. This reduces dark current draw by more than 50%, thus extending the battery life.

We thank you for responding to a need and helping to bring about a spirit of caring and fellowship in our community.

Dear Mrs. Pescosolido:

On May 31, 2008, St. Paul Church held a fundraising dinner to support our participation in the AmeriCares HomeFront Program. We are pleased to say it was a tremendous success and insures our ability to help those less fortunate.

We thank you for your participation in making this successful. Your contribution of glasses and cold carrying bags were used as door prizes. They were well received and enabled us to defray our costs in preparing our wonderful meal and atmosphere.

We thank you for responding to a need and helping to bring about a spirit of caring and fellowship in our community.

Appreciatively,

The "Italian Night" Committee
