Mitsubishi i EV Enters Canada

Already a popular all-electric vehicle in Japan, and recently introduced in The United States, Canada has finally received its first Mitsubishi i EV. Coming to Schaller Mitsubishi in New Britain, CT in the near future, this little Japanese car has a lot of (green) might.

In fact, an i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) has already been purchased in Manitoba. Ross Redman was the first to pick up the vehicle. He already owns "a number of devices that are eco-friendly, the latest addition being the electric car," according to one local paper.1

Apparently, many residents of Manitoba are big fans of eco-friendly technology. Since electric cars like the i produce no carbon gasses, they are expected to sell well throughout the region.

You can now order an i-MiEV at dealers in Canada, with models officially hitting the roads in January, 2012. The electric vehicle is a four-passenger, five-door hatchback subcompact. Its smooth ride makes it to a top speed of 130 km/h (about 75-80 mph), while making it 155 Km (about 90 miles) on a single charge.

Mitsubishi has received many awards for their EV, including winner of 'Fuel Economy Leaders: 2012 Model Year' by the EPA annual Economy Guide.
